Roofers Lie About What You Need<\/em> You think you might need a new roof…<\/p>\n\n\n\n And you are a little apprehensive about the whole experience from price, to the quality of the work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Will it look good? Will it leak?<\/p>\n\n\n\n And is there a warranty? How good is the warranty, REALLY<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who do you call to get that new roof?<\/p>\n\n\n\n You don’t know who to trust\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n You ask around: friends, family, coworkers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, you contact a few companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The salesman comes out, and at some point you all are sitting around the kitchen table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The salesman says great things. He is talking about how great your roof will look, how your roof will be protected for many years, and the quality of the installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Just how true are all of those little details?<\/p>\n\n\n\n How much of this is portraying a false reality?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some lies are intentional. Some lies are letting you just assume. Some of the lies are just plain ignorance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Still lies, and still bullshit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The way to protect yourself is to learn the process. Be aware of the pitfalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don’t let a liar talk you into something that is a bad decision.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n A real problem across the USA:<\/strong> New roofs that are installed terribly. (Not all, for sure – but a significant issue in the roofing industry.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Too many new roofs are already leaking, but it doesn’t show. Not yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And how many new roofs are not even meeting the minimum code?<\/p>\n\n\n\n That new roof looks good from the ground (usually) – but many are a nightmare waiting to unfold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The open secret among most roofing companies? They know the actual roofers – the ones doing the work on your roof – are underpaid, rushed, don’t give a crap – or even know about building codes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The roofing company owners, the salesmen, the shingle installers ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hardly any of them give a damn about your roof, either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What really matters? Your money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How are you going to protect yourself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n How are you going to get the roof you are PROMISED? (but that promise is NOT IN THE CONTRACT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The salesman will tell you many things – but are those words actually on the contract?<\/p>\n\n\n\n You have an expectation of a certain level quality – does that expectation make it to the guys actually installing the shingles?<\/p>\n\n\n\n As you browse through these pages, I will explain things to watch for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I will explain language you can require in the contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am sharing with you what a significant percent of the roofing companies do – because\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In my opinion, “ROOFERS ARE LIARS”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Are all Roofers Liars? Of course not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nothing is absolute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But the default position you should take is to assume from the beginning the roofers – the ones actually on your roof – are hacks, are incompetent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Make THAT assumption, to best defend yourself, and see if they can prove otherwise. It does NOT matter how many 5 star reviews your contracted company has, or what your neighbor or friends say about the company on your roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How would they know?<\/p>\n\n\n\n They can merely provide the perspective that the experience is tolerable enough, safer than the unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are too many places visible from the topside, much less than under the shingles, that can be, and are usually wrong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But the non-knowledged doesn’t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How do YOU, the end customer – know who to trust?<\/p>\n\n\n\n It begins with you being informed, and not blindly accepting the words you are hearing and reading. Yes, there is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Do you want to have a quality roof, that is installed CORRECTLY?<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you don’t, then exit this page.
